Just playing around. I use to draw with heavy little lines everywhere, I still do it here and there when I feel like it. Some people don’t care for it much. Some people like it. Anyway, just for fun.

I did this this sketch to benefit the “save Darfur coalition” that Geoffrey’s comics is helping to support. www.geoffreyscomics.com
It’s inside one of those Complete Invincible Library Hard covers. I just played with the sketch, it’s different than normal. It’s on dark blue paper on the inside cover so I erased away some parts, you can see the light areas, that’s all erased away, and the super bright white lines is just white out. And I used Copic markers to finish it off. It was fun stuff. But yeah, just an experimental sketch. Geoffrey’s comics will put the book with the sketch up for sale sometime soon.

Pencils and inks of that first page. This issue and 41 are by far my favorite issues to draw. You’ll see why soon.

I don’t know how many Invincible and Atome Eve sketches I drew but it was A LOT. The order of most asked for sketches is this> Invincible, Atom Eve, Allen the Alien. It doesn’t bother me at all to draw any of these, don’t think I’m complaining, I’m just mentioning it was quite a lot of the same characters I drew, and after a while they tend to look the same. So if this Atom Eve sketch looks kind of like the one I drew for you….sorry. heh.

Now this sketch is odd. A guy was going around asking for different charatcers that Jimmy Olsen has been. He had reference too. Jimmy Olsen was a Gorilla once.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand here’s a Mojo. I think his name is Mojo. Oops.

Wondercon is over and I had a great time. I’ll post some of my sketches here. I shared a table with the Elephantmen guys, Richard Starkings, Moritat, and JG Roshell at the Image area. Their books look so friggen great, I grabbed a couple issues of Hip Flask and Elephantman, I’m impressed. Anyway JG was kind enough to scan some of my sketches throughout the con, it was nice.
I met some of my favorite artists at this con. Art Adams and Mark Shultz. These guys are so amazing and I felt like a fool talking to them. I am such a nerd fanboy when it comes to some artists. I should just never talk to my favorites. Yeah, that’s a good idea. But hey I DID get the Aquarus drawing that Art Adams did for the Invincible handbook which I’m really excited about. I’ve always wanted a piece from art and now i do and it’s a character from my own book. Kinda awesome.
You guys gotta see Eric Canete’s new sketchbook, man the thing looks amazing. Go to his link in my links area. NOW. Pretty darn cool huh? Told ya. If you get a chance, buy one. The guy has got some major energy in those lines.
Speaking of Sketchbooks I’m getting quite the stack of sketches here so I think this might be the year I finally put a sketchbook out. We’ll see. Wish me luck.
Thanks for all the people who came by the booth and kept me busy drawing sketches and commissions the whole con, I had a lot of fun chatting and of course sometimes NOT chatting….I was tired. Sorry.

I am off to Wondercon in San Francisco this weekend. I’ll be taking with me quite a lot of art and I’ll be doing sketches and maybe a few commissions. Just look for the Image area, I’ll be there.
So I thought I better post something before I leave but I really don’t have anything new other than issues 40 and 41 that I’ve been busting my butt to finish. So I DO have a design of a Martian ship that’ll be in an issue soon. I’ll make some time next week for more warm-up sketches. See ya.
