Violence and piggybacks

Good draw night! I felt like drawing some violence today, breaking necks is fun to draw. The She-Silver Surfer was just going to be a lady but she ended up with a stance that looked like she could be balancing on a surfboard, so there ya go. I wanted to draw a smiley dimpled Hulk again, poor She-hulk is trying with all her might to no avail. They always have She-hulk punching people in the comics but COME ON she’s a GIRL, she should be pulling hair all the time. Kidding.

Then I thought I’d draw more females but again it turned violent. The monster didn’t have any hair to pull so she went for the flesh!

I wanted to end the night with MORE violence but for some reason the drawing turned into this. I don’t know where I went wrong. Maybe my subconscious was sick of fighting, he wanted piggyback rides.

Thanks!

Happy Hulks draw night

Lots of folks showed up tonight! It was a good night. This first one posted is a result of conversation with good ol’ Alan Tew.  We were talking about how we both handle  putting a figure down. I throw together shapes and lines to create anatomy, he says his method is more of a feeling for the outer line first, like a silhouette. Both are so different, I told him I would have a REALLY hard time doing anything foreshortened in that method. So I threw down an example of how I do it with that guy pointing. Then Alan came up with the idea of foreshortening something OTHER than what’s usually foreshortened. I said “How about an EAR?!?” So we got to work and did our own. That is pretty tuff I gotta admit. The sketches below are Hulk being happy. I like drawing the impossible sometimes, makes me feel rebellious and/or cool. Alan mentioned I should draw a pissed off Bruce Banner. I should have! GAH!

The first sketch on this next batch was fun, it’s like a before and after shot of a cocky guy getting punched in the face. And I havn’t drawn a monster chick in a while so there ya go. Just random sketches here, whatever I was feeling. And a shaved Gorilla was one of those feelings. I wonder what a shaved Gorilla would really look like?!? Hmmm.

More Hulk fun and at the bottom there is another pose swap that Alan and I did. He gave me the funkiest pose ever!

Thanks! See ya next time.
